The Lane Style House launched in January with the goal of helping indie fashion designers access media exposure and promote their design careers, in addition to creating a convenient site for its stylists, editors, press and buyers to complete their fashion editing process.
Emerging and established designers subscribe as members of The Lane Style House, create a showroom page by uploading images of their finished designer collections and site's users, stylists, editors, press and retail buyers, view the showroom pages and either rent, request samples or purchase wholesale from the designer's page. Once an editorial project or event has completed, The Lane Style House helps the designer obtain press clips from its users.
Fashion designers are encouraged to continuously update their showroom page to offer the users, stylists, editors and press, fresh samples and content to choose from.
Talenthouse and The Lane Style House teamed up to launch a Fashion Designer Contest, that recently closed in July 2012. The contest boasted over 60 designer submissions and received 4,638 public votes. There was two winners and three finalists.
This contest reached approximately 1.2 million people and the designers averaged: 72 supporters, 160 shares and 20,000 social reach
After intense deliberation, The Lane Style House's team agreed on the winning design collections. Fashion designers, Evgheni Hudorojcov & Natalia Rusu of Chisinau, Moldova, won the competition for their collections, "Confessions" by Hudorojcov & "Rider on the rain" by Rusu. Both winning designers will receive a six month Premier Membership with The Lane Style House, that includes press announcements, look book production(s) and brand promotion on The Lane Style House's social media channels.
The Lane Style House's creative director and co-founder, Barbara Lane, had this to say about the two designer collections, " Hudorojcov's "Confessions" collection is a timeless masterpiece. He has incorporated powerful sexy and glamour in his designs; that translates in a very feminine way. The dresses offer both an interesting visual without compromising the integrity of his design vision. I think Hudorojcov's collection will be highly desirable and many different women will desire to add his dresses to their wardrobe, as they are a perfect for parties and special occasions. Rusu's "Rider on the rain" collection is a beautiful contrast, uniquely urban and versatile. Natalia has a distinct design style, infusing rare cuts and garment shapes into her latest work. Rusu's collection is street chic and I can easily see her designs in London, New York or Tokyo."
