3 Ways to Attract More Clients into Your Business

By Chelsea Montoya

It's possible to find new client prospects that are right around you now. It's just a question of what you are willing to do to talk to them. You might even try cold calling if this type of thing doesn't bother you. Of course, if you're like most people this won't be an appealing idea at all. You can use any number of alternative methods that can successfully connect you with new prospects. Use a bit of trial and error to find methods that work for you and then keep doing them. Keep focusing on those methods until you see a noticeable increase in new prospect inquiries.

You need online and offline solutions to help you come with ways you can expand your network. LinkedIn is an ideal platform for socialization and meeting people, making it perfect for professionals. You can achieve a lot with LinkedIn, which is why you should take the time to learn of it. Also, look at what you can do right there in your home town. An option would be to join up with the US Chamber of Commerce nationally and locally. There are plenty of CoC events organized regularly, so you should go to as many as you can because they represent an excellent networking opportunity but don't forget to leave the people you talk to a business card. Holding a talk where you live on a subject that your target market finds important is an alternative.

You need to have a website or blog for your services and your products. When you want to get new clients, what you're going to be doing is called "lead generation." The main problem for most business people is getting exposure for their sites. If you have the room in your budget, you can set up a pay per click campaign. Not only that, you also need to optimize your site for local SEO. An offline business can set up a Google Places page which is quite helpful for getting the right kind of local traffic. The primary goal here is that you should get a site up and running--it doesn't need to be huge.

When you're willing to put a little bit of effort out and are able to be patient, you can also use the SRDS. The Standard Rate & Data Service publication has helped people for decades. There are many components to the SRDS, but basically you can find your audience and rent leads. It's great for tracking down all sorts of information you can use like telephone numbers and email addresses. But what you want to find are business leads for your niche or market. When it comes to lead generation, it is basically just a numbers game. In terms of normal clients, however, you need only a handful that you can leverage for your favor.

But, you will spend a huge chunk of time working on getting new clients. This is something that comes along with being a business owner. But, it will go faster as you become seasoned. Also, if you satisfy your clients, they will never leave you.
